For many years, Aleksandr Vinks photographs capture various events with the participation of the State Fire and Rescue Service, portraits of fire rescuers, landscapes and a philosophical point of view, confirming the noble daily mission of those employed in the service, saving lives and material values, showing not only the risks and difficulties of the profession, but also the romance.
In 1985, A.Vinks started working in the institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, incl. from 1992 in the Fire Testing Laboratory of VUGD, later - in the Scientific Research Department. Currently, the acquired rich work experience is put to use in the position of senior specialist of the Latvian Fire Museum.
Since 1987, he has been active in the photo club "Aspects" of the Ministry of the Interior, since 1997 he continues creative activities in the Artistic Council of the "RVR" photo club, regularly participates and achieves success in thematic photo exhibitions.
In 2001, he was nominated as a laureate of the European Union extreme events photo contest.
