On Friday, 14 April this year, veteran firefighter, retired Captain Alexander Sidenko succumbed to illness and passed away.
Alexander was born on 16 September 1961. After compulsory military service, he joined the State Fire and Rescue Service as a firefighter on 5 January 1982. During his service, he advanced his professional qualifications, attained the rank of officer and continued his service as a professional and experienced service specialist at the Operational Fire Headquarters as Chief of the Rear Support Section and Deputy Operational Duty Officer. After his retirement at the rank of Captain, from 2 April 2013 until the last moment, he implemented the acquired knowledge and experience as a Senior Specialist in the Security Sector of the College of Fire Protection and Civil Defence, maintaining, inspecting and managing the technical base and special equipment for the practical training of cadets of the College.
