On 26 April, 36 years since the accident in the Chernobyl NPP. In the past, a memorial mark has been installed in Stradins KUS territory in Pardaugava for the work of the heroes of Latvian state-owned participants in the elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident for the benefit of humanity, where festive remembrance events take place every year. Due to the planned construction in the hospital territory, at the request of the Latvian Union “Chernobyl”, Riga City Council specialists surveyed the surroundings of the museum, considering possible movement, installation and drawing up of a memorial sign in the fire Square opposite the museum. The museum regularly and also currently hosts thematic exhibitions dedicated to the rescue of the Chernobyl NPP accident, the museum's Hall of Fame honors the people who participated in the emergency work, officials of State, local government institutions and companies for support to the victims of the accident in social security and health care.
