Museum item of September 2024 - unique decorative interior item - silver cup - horn (LUM 2672)
acknowledgment - a gift from the businessmen of Daugavpils (Dvinska) in 1901 to the Daugavpils Volunteer Firefighters Association on the 25th anniversary of its foundation (1876). The cup was given to the museum in 1984 by Antons Mustermans, Chairman of the Council of the Daugavpils City and District Volunteer Firemen's Association. The cup was made in the Morozov company, silver 96th proof, on the silver details the mark of the master who made it and the Morozov brand, as well as the imperial coat of arms, officially certifying the status of the emperor and court supplier.
Ivans Morozovs founded his company in 1849 in St. Petersburg, the capital of the empire, as a jewelry workshop and specialized silverware production facility. Morozov's company supplied the Tsar's family and was one of the leaders in the supply of the Imperial Cabinet, just like the well-known Fabergé. Later, his father's business was taken over by his son Vladimir Morozov, offering gold and silver products in several of the company's trading houses.
After the events of 1917, Morozov's company stopped its operations.
