On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked four passenger planes, two of them crashed into the 110-story "twin towers" of the World Trade Center in the US city of New York, the third plane flew into the Pentagon building in Washington, killing 2,996 and injuring more than 9,000 people.
343 firefighters and 60 policemen who worked at the scene and all 265 passengers of the four hijacked planes lost their lives.
The availability of high-quality weapons and ammunition, the enormous influence of mass media have created a huge wave of terrorism in recent years, destroying material values and human lives, as evidenced by Russia's war in Ukraine.
